Tools describe instruments, utensils, devices or machines that occur at given development levels, specifically in relation to one or more sub-technologies. For example, Basic Hunting caused the appearance of spears, drums, snares and movable hide huts. The type and distribution of tools affect a region's ability to communicate with outsiders, make war, carry on trade or develop civilization.
