The spell will distinguish the degree of threat, being faint, moderate, strong or overwhelming. The lack of malevolence should indicate those who wish to aid the cleric and his or her companions.
Only the threat from living beings is detected, regardless of the being’s intelligence. Traps and unsafe ground are not detected.
