Arboriculture grants the character an ability to recognize the genera and species of shrubs on sight, as well as the ability to recognize a potentially animated tree from one that's not. The character will also know the best harvest time and whether the fruit that can be see is safe to eat or not. In the case of plants that produce resins, gums, incense and such, the character will know how to gather these products and distill them, if need be.
A list of bushes & shrubs that can be recognized is listed on this page.
Products that can be harvested include fruit and other foods, bark, flowers for perfume, woody material for gum, incense and distilling, along with various elements of the plant used for making medicinal drugs and poisons.
If the plant is searched for in its natural environment, the likelihood is that the character will be able to find valuable patches growing within 1-3 days. In season (typically a 30-day period) this will require half a day to harvest 3-12 lbs. of material (4 hours). Take note that greater harvests can be obtained through pruning.
