As these times approach, the character's time-keeping precision increases significantly. During the two-hour period before sunrise and sunset, the character can ascertain the exact time. After the rising or setting sun, the character retains this capacity for another half-an-hour.

The ability also enables the character to discern cardinal directions with increased accuracy. They also have an innate sense of north, south, east and west — yet this depends on the presence of a clear sky and the character's ability to see the horizon. Below ground, or surrounded by dense vegetation and a canopy of tree tops, the ability cannot be depended upon.

Navigation

Naturally, this ability is invaluable for guiding a group through uncharted territories, especially with regards to vast oceans, open plains or deserts, where there are few natural features. This ability to orient oneself is a key to effective navigation and exploration for the character and others.
