Know deity is an amateur-status sage ability that enables the character to identify a demi-god's influence and iconography when encountered. This includes recognizing the inspiration for a shrine, symbols, imagery or statuary. When and where words are inscribed, the character will know from which demi-god they derive.
In situations where the demi-god is not named, yet a clear description can be obtained about what the demi-god did or said, the character should be able to piece from clues what deity was involved. Most demi-gods have distinctive personalities that can aid the character's determination.
Demi-gods may be the ancestors of lines of kings or the founders of states. These gods too would be known about, and to some degree their immediate offspring, until such time as the "divinity" of the offspring is bred out through marriage with mortals.
