Neutralise Poison (spell).jpg

Neutralise poison eliminates all poisonous and venomous toxins from the recipient, mending the body's condition to the level of health he or she possessed prior to the toxin's introduction. The spell also restores damage lost due to toxin working its way through the recipient's system.

Neutralize Poison
Range touch
Duration permanent
Area of Effect 1 creature
Casting Time 1 move
Saving Throw none; see text
Level cleric (4th); druid (3rd)

The spell has the potential for restoring a character that's died due to poison or venom. If the caster is able to attend to the deceased within 1 round per level of the caster, neutralise poison can restore the character's life. Once saved, the restored character has -9 hit points, while he or she is in a state of unconsciousness until further healing is applied.

Should the caster wish, the spell can be used to attack a venomous creature. To accomplish this during combat, the caster must attempt to hit. The creature's armour class (AC) is ignored; the caster needs to hit AC 10 to succeed — whereupon the touched creature's poison sac will wither and dry, rendering the creature's venom harmless.

Suffuse with Poison

The reverse of the spell, suffuse with poison, causes 1-6 damage per level of the caster to any creature that's successfully touched. A saving throw is permitted; but even if the save is made, the touch of the caster causes 1-2 damage per the caster's level.
