The spell enables the caster to either create or destroy water as desired. The location from which created water springs must be identified — however, this need not mean that it wells from the ground. Water can be made to spring from the bottom of a bucket or other container, upon any surface, the caster's hand or from the air. However, the location of origin must be visible to the caster when the spell is discharged.

The water that's created will be clean and drinkable, without traces of mineral content. Dirty or alkali water cannot be created, though impure water can be destroyed; doing so will leave the mineral content unaffected, leaving it dry upon the ground if no water is left or allowed to deposit in whatever water remains.

The spell cannot destroy water that is integral to a creature's biology, or which exists in pockets inside solid materials; only free-standing water may be affected. The spell can be used to dry woven items that are not normally wet, such as clothes, blankets or armour. A container must be opened and looked into before the caster can destroy water contained inside.
